  1. New Zealand is a peaceful country, and there is no such threat as terrorism. General crimes like theft, kidnapping, etc., happen but are not so common.
  2. Serious crimes like drug trafficking are active, but it is a threat to those actively involved in these crimes.
  3. New Zealand is one of those countries where Covid-19 is active. So follow all covid-19 measures before and during your visit.
  4. Although New Zealand is a peaceful country, getting involved in any political gathering or movement is still not advisable.
  5. Always carry your passport with you.
  6. If you have dual nationality, then make sure you apply with the same passport you want to travel with.
  7. New Zealand offers eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to US citizens and some other countries. eTA is valid for 12 months, and through eTA, you can get entry to New Zealand very quickly.
  8. You can stay upto 90 days with a US passport and 180 days with a UK passport. US citizens can visit only for six months in a validity period of 12 months.

Requirements For New Zealand Visa For US Citizens

  1. You must have a valid travel document/passport issued by the US government with a minimum validity of 3 months.
  2. You should not have any criminal or immigration-related case registered against you in the US or anywhere else.
  3. If you haven’t taken both doses of the covid vaccine, you must carry a covid-19 negative test report. And the test must be done one day before your scheduled departure.
  4. You must apply for eTA a few days before your scheduled flight.
  5. You don’t need to carry a hard copy of eTA as it is stored electronically against your passport in New Zealand’s immigration department.
  6. Applicants must be an ordinary passport holder to apply for an eTA.

How To Apply For New Zealand Visa (NZeTA) From the USA?

  1. Visit the Official website of the New Zealand Government.
  2. From the Drop-Down menu, select your purpose of visit.
  3. Note: You can only get NZeTA if you want to visit New Zealand for tourism or transit purposes. Otherwise, you’ll have to select other options according to your need.
  4. You’ll see another drop-down menu, and then you can select a secondary purpose. If you want to spend your holiday in New Zealand with your family and friends, you can select the NZeTa option.
  5. After selecting your visa type option, you can move forward to fill out the visa form.
  6. Pay the visa processing fee, and your application process will be completed. If you don’t make any mistakes, your application will be accepted.
